A mainland spokesperson on Tuesday denounced Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authority for making unjustified moves against those who advocate peaceful reunification across the Taiwan Strait, saying such moves were made with malicious intentions.

Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, made the remarks in response to a media inquiry regarding Taiwan media reports that the head of Taiwan People's Communist Party and others have been indicted by prosecutors in Taipei citing the so-called anti-infiltration act.

Out of their desire for seeking "Taiwan independence," the DPP authority and separatist forces have used every means to suppress those who oppose "Taiwan independence," safeguard peace in the Taiwan Strait, and advocate peaceful cross-Strait reunification, and tried to prosecute them with the so-called anti-infiltration act, Zhu said.

Their malicious intentions are to deliberately create "green terror," build up cross-Strait confrontation, and seek illegitimate electoral benefits for the selfish gains of one party, she noted.

Such despicable acts will surely be strongly condemned and resolutely opposed by people on both sides of the Strait, said Zhu, adding that they will not stop the dominant will of people from both sides of the Strait for peace, development, exchanges and cooperation as well as the historical trend of cross-Strait exchanges.
