Chifeng power company strengthens maintenance in lead-up to winter games

The State Grid Chifeng Power Supply Company has been ramping up maintenance and inspections of the Meilin Velley substation in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, to ensure power supply during the 14th National Winter Games slated for February next year. 

The 66 kV substation will offer power supply for the Meilingu Valley International Ski Resort, which will serve as the venue for the snowboarding and alpine skiing events of the 14th National Winter Games. 

The maintenance work involves a thorough inspection of the protection devices for transformers, as well as a 66 kV side current transformer test at the substation.

The company has fully taken into account construction safety, personnel capacity, and the working environment to make sure the maintenance task.

Maintenance staff have been earnestly sticking to safety protocols, strengthening on-site standardized operations, and improving safety control measures.

Members of the Communist Party of China have been the pacesetters in the inspection, taking the lead in adhering to regulations and calling on the rest of the staff to prioritize safety. They have played an exemplary role in promoting safe production and improving the quality of equipment maintenance.

To ensure power supply for venues of the national games, the State Grid Chifeng Power Supply Company said it would devise inspection plans, strengthen inspections and monitoring of the substation, and ensure the normal operation of equipment and facilities.

The 14th National Winter Games will take place in Inner Mongolia from Feb. 17 to 27, 2024.
