The 2023-2024 Beijing Ice and Snow Festival kicked off at the National Speed Skating Oval on Monday, marking the start of a new season of recreational winter sports for local residents.
The National Stadium, the National Speed Skating Oval, the Nanshan Resort, and parks across Beijing will jointly create an ice and snow carnival.
In particular, starting from the second half of December, five parks including the Beihai Park and the Summer Palace will hold fun ice and snow events such as ice bicycles and ice motorcycles.
In addition, Chaoyang, Changping, Pinggu, Miyun, and Yanqing districts will organize regional events to encourage more participation.
More than 30,000 coupons will be issued to stimulate spending on the events.
The festival will last through the end of February 2024.
