Winter carnival brightens grassland in China's Inner Mongolia

A winter carnival featuring horse racings, fashion shows, and road trips kicked off in East Wuzhumuqin Banner, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on Sunday, and will last through Wednesday.

As one of the outstanding natural grassland areas in China, East Wuzhumuqin Banner is the home of Mongolian horses and embodies the Mongolian horse spirit. The place is also attractive for its traditional nomadic culture, and rich intangible cultural heritage such as the Mongolian long tune and Mongolian ethnic clothing. 

As part of the region's efforts to promote local culture and attract more tourists, the three-day winter event will allow visitors to participate in a variety of activities and experience Mongolian culture. Please find the schedule of events as follows:

Dec. 12: Launch Ceremony of Mongolian Horse Racing in Sumu Township Division 

Dec. 12: 15-Kilometer Endurance Race and Team Relay Race

Dec. 12: Mongolian Fashion Show 

Dec. 10-13 : Driving Tour along 311 National Highway

Dec. 11 -12: Photography Event Highlighting Sceneries of East Wuzhumuqin Banner

Dec. 12: Horse Contest in Mandubaolige Township 

Dec. 12: Mongolian Wrestling Contest in Mandubaolige Township
