A meeting was held in Beijing on Monday to coordinate the preparation work for cultural activities during the upcoming Spring Festival holiday, which runs from Feb. 10 to 17.
This year's celebration in Beijing will prominently feature dragon elements - as 2024 is the Year of the Dragon - and display the city's distinctive characteristics. The city plans to launch a series of cultural events, such as performances, temple fairs, and reading events, to enrich the cultural experiences of residents.
Moreover, relying on its abundant cultural and tourism resources, the capital city will step up efforts to develop premium tourism routes and launch special routes. Additionally, the city will introduce family packages at hotels, offering a combination of services and amenities tailored to the needs and preferences of families traveling together.
Beijing will also capitalize on its status as the "Dual Olympic City," introducing a range of winter sports activities.
As a national cultural hub, Beijing plans to hold cultural activities at cultural landmarks and key areas in the city, including the Central Axis, Shougang Park, and the sub-center in Tongzhou district.
Meanwhile, Monday's meeting stressed the need to strengthen overall coordination and foster synergies among departments to ensure smooth traffic operations and services throughout the week-long holiday.
