The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism has sent artist and cultural delegations to 13 cities in nine countries to celebrate the Chinese New Year and promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding.

As part of the "Happy Chinese New Year" cultural program, the cultural delegations kicked off their trips in San Francisco, the U.S., in late January. They proceeded to visit cities in North America, South America, and Europe, achieving unprecedented outreach in terms of the numbers of cities visited, activities held, engagement levels, and overall event scales.

Over 100 cultural ambassadors were selected from prestigious institutions like the Central Conservatory of Music, Beijing Chinese Orchestra, Beijing Dance Academy, Beijing Vocational College of Opera and Arts, and various intangible cultural heritage institutions. They were divided into groups and hosted nearly 70 activities including artistic performances, photo exhibitions, cultural fairs, and tourism promotions. Notably, the "Happy Chinese New Year" festivities were held in London, Edinburgh, Mexico City, and Lima for the first time.

Major outdoor celebrations in locations such as Trafalgar Square in London, National Art Center of Mexico (Cenart), Rotermann Square in Tallinn, Estonia, and Allou! Fun Park in Athens, Greece, attracted over 800,000 spectators.

By Sunday, the "Happy Chinese New Year" events had generated over 30 million topic-related posts and video views online, reaching over 100 million users on various streaming platforms.
