During the first two months of this year, the State Grid Chifeng Power Supply Company delivered 3,996.77 megawatts of electricity to other regions of China, up 57.3% compared to the same period last year, and 3,437.1 megawatts of grid-connected wind power, up 25.3% year on year, setting new records for its cross-regional power transmission and wind power consumption capacity.

As part of its measures to increase the capacity of electricity generation from new energy resources, the company advanced the planning and construction of its incremental distribution networks . Through the interconnected 500 kV main grids of Chifeng, Hulunbuir, Xing'an and Tongliao, the company has helped open the second channel for delivering power to China's northeast region, which will serve as a fast track for delivering electricity from large-scale wind power and photovoltaic bases to other regions.

In 2023, the company's investment in power grid construction hit an all-time high, with 1,447.7 kilometers of transmission and distribution lines added and an increase of 673,000 kilovolt-amperes (kVA) in transformation capacity. A total of 17 projects, including the 220 kV transformation projects in Kangjiaying and Wudan, were approved.

In terms of key projects, the company started and continued 52 infrastructure projects throughout the year, and 14 projects were completed and put into operation.

In addition, the company ramped up efforts to ensure the safe operation of the power grid, carried out investigation to identify safety hazards, and reduced the tripping rate and forced outage rate of power transmission lines of 220 kV and above. These efforts have consolidated a strong power transmission network.

According to the company, it will conduct in-depth analysis of integrating new energy resources into the grid and optimize the operation mode of power grid. Efforts will be made to accelerate the construction of projects focusing on the delivery of electricity generated from new energy resources, including the 220 kV power transmission project for the 200,000-kW Xinglong wind power project in Hexigten Banner.
