Beijing Subway Line 12 has completed the commissioning phase and is set to open within the year, providing convenient travel options for residents and commuters in the city's northern area.

All 42 carriages have arrived at the depot, and will undergo at least three months of empty running tests.

Line 12 is a major transit line that runs mainly along the North Third Ring Road in an east-west direction, and has a total length of approximately 30 kilometers with 21 stations. It spans four administrative districts of Haidian, Xicheng, Dongcheng and Chaoyang, connecting residential neighborhoods, commercial districts and important functional areas.

Upon its opening, Line 12 is expected to effectively reduce transportation congestion in the city's northern districts, especially along the North Third Ring Road. Additionally, this subway line will spearhead the development and construction of the surrounding areas.
