According to a statistical communique recently released by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics, the city has made significant strides in green development, including improvements to ecological preservation, urban governance, and sustainable transportation.

As part of its green development endeavor, Beijing has promoted the construction of leisure parks, urban forests, pocket parks, and small green spaces, achieving a green coverage rate of 49.8% and a per capita park green space of 16.9 square meters in 2023.

Beijing has also improved its green transportation services. As of the end of 2023, the city boasted 1,285 operating public electric bus routes covering a total distance of 29,738.5 kilometers. Additionally, there were 27 operational subway lines with a combined length of 836 kilometers, marking a growth of 38.7 kilometers from the previous year. Moreover, the number of shared bicycles reached 916,000 by the end of last year, 35,000 more than the previous year.

In addition, Beijing has ensured stable production and supply of agricultural products. Despite adverse effects from natural disasters, the total area of grain sowing stayed above 1 million hectares throughout the year, with a total grain output of 478,000 metric tons, marking a 5.3% increase year on year.

Meanwhile, residents' incomes have increased steadily, with the city's per capita disposable income reaching 81,752 yuan. In particular, rural residents witnessed a 7.5% growth in per capita disposable income.
