The cultural heritage bureaus of Beijing and Hebei jointly launched a revolutionary cultural relics-themed tour route on March 25 in Beijing. The route commemorates the historical journey undertaken by the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1949 when they moved from Xibaipo in Hebei to Beijing.

In March 1949, the CPC leaders departed from Xibaipo, which was then the base of the CPC Central Committee in north China's Hebei province, and traveled 350 kilometers to Beijing.

Chairman Mao Zedong likened the journey from Xibaipo to "going for a big exam in the capital city" as they set out.

The newly launched tour route connects seven important revolutionary sites along this historical path, showcasing the achievements of both regions in protecting and utilizing these significant cultural relics.

As the first group on this themed tour route, a delegation composed of experts and scholars from Beijing and Hebei, as well as media reporters, embarked from Xibaipo two days earlier and visited sites along the way.

Through exhibitions and activities, the participants engaged in learning and exchanges, reigniting their aspirations and commitment to approach their current "examinations" in the new era with a proactive attitude.

The launch also featured a joint proposal from several revolutionary sites and memorial halls along the route. This proposal outlines a framework for the protection, inheritance, and utilization of these cultural relics.
