On April 7, "Luohu Release" conducted a briefing on the pet economy, unveiling several measures to bolster the pet industry's development within Luohu.

These measures are aimed at supporting both enterprises and non-profit organizations involved in the research, development, production, and distribution of pet food, supplies, medicines, as well as activities such as pet exhibitions, training, breeding, and trading.

As per the outlined measures, Luohu intends to establish a cross-border e-commerce industrial park dedicated to the pet economy and to develop pet-friendly parks in locations such as Donghu Park and Cuihu Cultural & Sports Park. Moreover, Luohu plans to advance the creation of pet tourism routes and iconic destinations for pet enthusiasts. The district is also actively promoting the establishment of pet training schools and specialized parks tailored for the pet economy.

Looking ahead to 2026, Luohu aims to establish a top-tier pet healthcare service hub, with plans to construct a large-scale pet healthcare hospital adhering to the standards set by the Chinese Veterinary Medical Association's five-star animal hospitals. This initiative will involve the introduction of state-of-the-art medical equipment, the cultivation of professional medical teams, and the nurturing of additional talents in the field of pet medicine.

In recent years, Luohu has witnessed rapid growth in its pet industry. In 2023 alone, 62 new pet enterprises were established, representing a growth rate of 58.97%. Presently, Luohu boasts a total of 157 pet enterprises, spanning various sectors including pet breeding, wholesale and retail of pet products, grooming services, pet boarding and adoption, and medical services. This demonstrates a well-integrated industrial chain and strong cohesion within the sector.
