Several major projects undertaken by state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in Beijing, ranging from convention construction and transportation to urban renewal, are entering their final stages of construction this year. These projects have seen significant progress in the first quarter.

In Chaoyang district, the second phase of the China National Convention Center in Chaoyang district, a key facility of the Beijing International Exchange Center, is rapidly taking shape. As of the end of March, 60% of the project's interior decoration had been completed, with an expected official opening in 2025. This expansion will serve high-end business conferences and exhibitions on a regular basis.

Over 10 kilometers away in Shunyi district, the second phase of the China International Exhibition Center, another major convention and exhibition project, is set to be completed by the end of the year. The project includes an exhibition space, conference center, and hotel, all of which are now in the final stages of construction.

The Beijing sub-center comprehensive transportation hub is on track to complete its main structure by the end of 2024. The 1.28 million-square-meter underground transportation hub, the largest of its kind in Asia, is roughly equivalent to the area of 179 standard football fields.

In Tongzhou district, the Taihu Book City, once Asia's largest publication distribution center, is being renovated as part of the Taihu Performing Arts Town program. Completion is targeted for the end of August, with an opening planned later this year.

Xiaobao village near Songzhuang, known for being an artist hub in northern Tongzhou district, began renovation works in March. The project aims to build 42 high-quality artist workshops, with the main structure expected to be completed by the end of 2024 and the entire project unveiling in 2026.
