The Tongzhou area of the Beijing Data Foundation Pilot Zone aims to attract 50 companies this year, targeting a total revenue of 5 billion yuan in the data industry, according to a press conference Thursday.
The pilot zone, launched last November, aims to transform the city's selected areas into a comprehensive testbed for national databases and a hub for data aggregation.
Spanning approximately 68 square kilometers, the zone is divided into two parts, with more than half located in Beijing's eastern Tongzhou district. According to the plan, the Tongzhou area of the pilot zone is focused on developing a data headquarters base, along with zones dedicated to cultural tourism and financial data, to accelerate the realization of data asset values.
Enterprises in the pilot zone will receive financial assistance and cash rewards to bolster their development.
