The 2024 Southern Confucianism Tourism Season was launched Friday in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, aiming to promote the eastern Chinese city's cultural and tourism resources through an exciting array of activities.

According to the event organizer, Quzhou will offer various activities centered on Confucian culture in September, including an exhibition, a ceremony commemorating the 2,575th birthday of Confucius, a concert, and a musical performance.
Nine centuries ago in the Southern Song dynasty (1127-1279), Kong Duanyou, the 48th-generation descendant of Confucius, led his clan and moved to Quzhou, earning the city the name — the home of Southern Confucianism.

With a rich historical heritage, Quzhou is home to numerous tourist attractions such as Jianglang Mountain, Longyou Grottoes, and the Nianbadu ancient town. These sites offer significant historical and cultural value, providing visitors with a glimpse into Chinese culture.

Quzhou food is top on the itinerary for visitors. Local delicacies like the Longyou steamed cakes and the Quzhou baked pancakes would invigorate the taste buds of diners.

In close proximity of Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang province, as well as Yiwu, a renowned small-commodities trading hub, Quzhou is conveniently reached by high-speed trains.
