The second phase of the Beijing South Central Axis International Culture and Technology Park has recently passed final inspections and is now fully open. Over 270 companies have set up operations in the office complex, which has a particular focus on the digital culture and metaverse industries, forming a significant industrial cluster.
The office park, located in Fengtai district, was formerly a garment market called Dahongmen. After the market closed in 2021, the first phase of redevelopment began, and by March 2023, the second phase followed suit. Redevelopment emphasized eco-friendly construction, incorporating extensive green spaces and energy-efficient design elements, marking a successful urban renewal project.
The new complex has nearly 100,000 square meters of office space, along with 30,000 square meters of support facilities and close to 500 residential units for employees. By July, more than 270 enterprises had set up operations in the park, 110 of which are recognized as national-level high-tech companies.
Recognized for its success, the redevelopment project was recently selected as one of the top 14 best practices in urban renewal in Beijing. The new complex not only serves businesses but also provides improved public spaces, enhancing the area's livability for local residents.
