E-mail Xinhua, October 8, 2013Two people were killed and more than 92,600 people were affected because of flooding brought by continuous rains and thunderstorms due to intertropical convergence zone during the past days, a senior government official said Monday.
National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) executive director Eduardo del Rosario said the two victims, one of them a five-year old girl, drowned after they were swept by strong water currents in separate occasions both in central Philippine province of Antique.
He said that a total of 18,828 families, or 92,658 people, from four regions in central and southern Philippines have been affected by the weather disturbance.
