April 11: Shop owners who suffered losses in the March 14 riot in Lhasa will receive monthly living allowances from the government, sources with the regional civil affairs authorities said on Thursday; China expressed early Friday morning strong indignation and opposition over a resolution on Tibet adopted by the U.S. House of Representatives; China on Thursday refuted proposals for so-called "international" or "independent" investigations on recent Lhasa riots, and urged probes into attacks on China's foreign missions last month.(China.org.cn)
