Representatives from Inner Mongolia are the first group to arrive in Beijing. Like them, more than 2,000 CPPCC members are gradually arriving. They brought their proposals for the country's development in various fields. Social welfare issues, including housing, education, medicare and employment, are expected to be the hottest topics.

The CPPCC reflects China's "multi-party cooperation system" under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. Its committees have representatives from different political groups, ethnic groups, and people of all walks of life.
