The principle of people-oriented governance should be thoroughly implemented, especially in fighting corruption, said a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

He Guoqiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, made the remarks during his five-day inspection visit to Yunnan Province in southwest China. His visit concluded on Tuesday.

He called for taking concrete measures to improve the well-being of people.

He also urged stepping up and carrying out innovations in social management to create a stable and harmonious social environment.

He urged the anti-corruption team to address problems that the public cared most about and encourage public participation in the anti-corruption drive.
