Following are some quotes from Luo Shaming, a political advisor, on enhancing cross-Strait cultural exchange and cooperation at the annual session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee on Sunday:

-- The central government should support cultural and creative industries by cutting tax, lowering entry threshold and helping attract investment.

-- Apart from existing cooperation in advertising, cartoon and animation, publishing and exhibition, the Chinese mainland and Taiwan could broaden the scope of cooperation and optimize the structure of cultural industries.

-- Cultural industry associations of the Chinese mainland and Taiwan should play a more important role in improving the operational mechanism of the industry.

-- The agreement on intellectual property rights protection between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan should be strictly implemented in order to better ignite creativity and innovation.
