China has urged all parties concerned to exercise restraint in order to restore peace in northern Myanmar.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hong Lei made this call Tuesday, in response to an incident involving a stray shell that flattened a house in Chinese territory, amid clashes between Myanmar government troops and the Kokang ethnic army.

Hong Lei also called on Myanmar to take measure to prevent the reoccurrence of such incidents.

The home that was hit was destroyed, but there were no casualties.
