Zhou Wenzhong, secretary-general of the Boao Forum for Asia and member of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, is attending the top advisory body's annual session. He was the former ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the United States of America from March 2005 to 2010.

"This year's theme for the Boao Forum is 'Asia's New Future: New Dynamics, New Vision,' which is about the current situation, " Zhou said, revealing that "The growth rate for all of Asia was good during last year, compared with the rest of the world. However, it was unbalanced. China's economic growth was 6.9 percent and India was above 7 percent while Southeast Asia was a little lower, at around 4 percent. The situation is good, but still has problems. Generally speaking, the growth rate is slowing down. "

He believes under the circumstances that the market is changing, and while China and other countries are transforming their means and measure to ensure economic growth in the future, economic structures are being reshaped and dynamics are also changing. "How can we further boost dynamics? How can we develop the real economy? I think that innovation might be one of the answers, which has also led our development concepts. I think that other Asian countries are also thinking about this. What is the best way to realize potential with regard to dynamic shifts, speed adjustments and economic restructuring? This is important."

Zhou stressed that China would love to have production capacity cooperation with different countries, saying, "Production capacity cooperation is about mutual complement and win-win results. This is how we actively and positively interact with neighboring and developing countries."

This year's annual Boao Forum for Asia will be held from March 22 to 25, on Boao Island at the southernmost part of China, the permanent site of the Annual Conference of the Forum since 2001.
