Li Mingcui was trapped under rubble for 164 hours before being rescued. She was labeled the strongest woman in the Sichuan earthquake. "Now, my thoughts are the same as they were under the debris: I have to live!" Li said.

She now had a new family. Her partner knew her before she got married, and the two were living a good life. Now, when somebody asks him, "Is this your wife?" he answers, "No, she is my old companion."

Mingcui is quite optimistic.

"Now, I still have dreams about those days," she said. "It's pitch-black around. Only I know I don't die and I tell myself I have to live."
