Adjust font size:

A burglar who stole three bankcards and an identity card was detained by police when he tried returning them in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province, last Thursday, Dahe News reported.

The thief surnamed Duan, broke into his neighbor's home at night, took the cards and 50 yuan cash (US$7), but could only withdraw 1,000 yuan from one of the bank cards and could not guess the passwords of the other two with the information on the identity card.

Duan tried to put the cards back but was caught when his neighbor returned from a night-shift job and summoned the police.
