Man spends 2 months' pay to woo his love
Adjust font size:

A migrant worker recently won the heart of his love after staging romantic advances that cost him two months' wages in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province, Henan Commercial News reported.

Cheng Xiaolei, 21, earns less than 2,000 yuan (US$290) a month, but spent 3,000 yuan to rent a luxury car and another thousand on 999 roses to court Li Min, who he says he fell for on first sight, late last month.

They met as employees of a local restaurant. The manager did not allow employees to court each other so Cheng quit early last month.

He returned to the restaurant in a limo with the huge flower basket and sang love songs in the bitter cold for half an hour, which finally moved the 19-year-old girl.

The special scene attracted many curious onlookers who broke into applause when he successfully won over Li.
