Traffic Accident Kills 8, Injures 18 in Guangdong

Eight people were killed and 18 others were injured in a bus-truck collision accident Tuesday evening in Yangshan County, south China's Guangdong Province, local police sources confirmed on Thursday.

At around 6:00 PM on Tuesday, a medium-sized bus ran into a big truck head-on at the a section of No. 107 state highway in the county, killing one on the spot. Three people died en route to a local hospital, and four others died later in the hospital, the police sources said.

Another 18 injured are now in stable condition, the sources added.

Cause of the accident is being investigated.
