Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident that a newspaper employee was beaten to death in north China, local public security sources said on Friday.

Lan Chengzhang, a local employee with the Beijing-based China Trade News, was beaten to death on January 10 while investigating a coal mine in Hunyuan county of Datong city.

Police are still looking for five other suspects, said a spokesman with the Shanxi Provincial Security Bureau.
