Bogus-currency User Nabbed in Macao
Adjust font size:

The Macao police have detained a suspect who allegedly used counterfeit Hong Kong-dollar notes on over 30 occasions, local press reported Friday.

The Macao Post Daily quoted police sources as saying that the police conducted the apprehension Thursday after a manager of a local guesthouse filed the criminal complaints on the suspect.

The 51-year-old suspect, surnamed Ma, was believed to pass 1, 000-Hong-Kong-dollar bills during at least 20 trips to Macao, said the sources.

The detainee has been transferred to the Public Prosecution for further investigations and possible arraignment.
