Anhui Announces End of Emergency Flood Plan
Adjust font size:

East China's Anhui Province on Thursday announced the end of emergency flood measures, after water levels in rivers returned to normal level.

Officials with the Anhui headquarters of flood control said the announcement was made after water levels at most hydrological stations along the Huaihe River fell below the danger lines and floodwater in the Chuhe River dispersed.

"Governments at all levels and the people succeeded in controlling the floods since the emergency response plan was launched on July 4," said a senior official with the headquarters.

The emergency response plan ended officially at 2:00 PM on Thursday.

However, the headquarters warned local authorities to remain alert, as the Huaihe River was still in its flood season.
