2 arrested in drug trafficking in Shanghai
Adjust font size:

Shanghai railway police have arrested two men and seized almost 4,000 tablets of methamphetamine, commonly known as "ice", weighing 395 grams, during a routine train inspection.

Police said they questioned the first man on the K80 train from Kunming to Shanghai on Saturday after he had behaved suspiciously when answering their questions.

Officers found a plastic bag with 2,173 pills in his pockets.

In the same soft-sleeper compartment, they noticed another man behaving suspiciously and avoiding eye contact. They found 1,795 pills in his quilt.

Both men denied that they knew each other, but confessed that they received orders from the same "boss", said the police.

Investigations are under way.
