5 arrested for alleged drug trafficking in Shanghai
Adjust font size:

Shanghai police arrested four men and one woman and seized almost five kilograms of methamphetamine, commonly known as "ice" on Monday.

Police said they received a report in September that a person nicknamed "A Chun" often sold drugs around Fengxian District. They connected the woman back to four other men who had trafficked drugs between Shanghai and the southern Guangdong Province.

The police detained the four men at an expressway toll station and a gas station on Nov. 10 and Nov. 11.

Gang head Zhou Zhenyu, 43, was sentenced to seven years jail in 1997 for drug trafficking. He returned to his old ways after his 2004 release.
