Adjust font size:

Two helicopters crashed near Hohhot, capital of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Wednesday morning.

The site of the accident was confirmed to be in Jiucaizhuang Township, about 20 km away from the seat of Qingshuihe County in the southern suburbs of the regional capital, said a source from the fire control detachment of Hohhot City.

The crash was reported to the authorities at 9:45 a.m., according to a local government source.

Witnesses claimed the pilots parachuted to escape the crash of the helicopters which belonged to the military. They insisted the machinists were trapped.

No other details are available for the moment.
