Flood-damaged railway reopens after 8-day suspension
Adjust font size:

A railway trunk in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region reopened to traffic on Sunday morning after an eight-day suspension triggered by floods, local authorities said.

The railway, a west to east line linking Jining with Tongniao in the region, reopened to traffic at 10 a.m. It was suspended after the Shalihe Railway Bridge was seriously damaged by floods on June 28, a railway official said.

One bridge pier subsided and inclined 30 centimeters toward east. After days of reinforcement, the pier resumed operation.
