Adjust font size:

Five people were killed, one critically injured, and another remained missing after a landslide on Friday evening in central China's Hunan Province.

The dead were identified as Liu Baocai, his father and two daughters as well as his uncle. Liu's wife, Tian Yuxiang, was severely injured.

Rescuers failed to find Tian's niece Tian Juanjuan, who was said to have been with Liu's family on Friday.

The landslide occurred at 6:00 p.m. in Huanxin Village, Pingjiang County.

Rescuers said the landslide was caused by lingering rains, which loosened the hillside.
