PLA hi-tech exhibition group debuts at international fair

The 8th Chongqing Hi-Tech Trade Fair and the 4th International Military-Civilian Due-Purpose Technology Exhibition opened at the Chongqing International Convention & Exhibition Center yesterday morning. It is the first time for the General Staff Headquarters and the General Armaments Department of the PLA to jointly organize a "military hi-tech exhibition group" to participate in the fair, and has thus drawn wide attention.

The "military hi-tech exhibition group" is made up of over 40 military schools and scientific research institutes and will showcase 180-odd matured military-civilian due-purpose scientific and technological achievements with good foreseeable application prospects, and the exhibits cover biological, pharmaceutical, energy source, electronic, automatic and environmental protection and other fields.

The current hi-tech trade fair is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Informationization, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the China Association of Innovation and the Chongqing Municipal People's Government. It has attracted 162 delegations from more than 100 scientific research institutes, famous universities and 1,550-odd renowned enterprises from 23 countries and regions to showcase over 12,400 exhibits.
