China's individuals credit information database had created credit records for 570 million persons by the end of June this year, said a senior official with the People's Bank of China (PBoC) on Wednesday.

This made it the largest credit information database for individuals in the world so far, Su Ning, deputy president of the PBoC, told a press conference on China's financial service reform held here.

Su said the PBOC has established a nationwide centralized database comprising of credit information on both enterprises and individuals in recent years.

According to Su, by the end of June this year, the central bank had created credit records for 12.2 million enterprises, out of which 5.1 million enterprises borrowed from banks.

Su said the establishment of nationwide credit information system has not only helped the banks expanding credit loans, but also lowered their credit risks.

He added that in the future, the central bank will further improve the national credit information system so as to better the country's credit-related service.
