Lighters, matches allowed on civil flights
Adjust font size:

Passengers may carry lighters and matches on board civil flights from December 20, the Civil Aviation Administration of China said Wednesday.

Each passenger is allowed to carry one lighter, except windproof one, or a box of matches. But the lighter or box of matches is subject to a separate safety check.

But passengers are banned from having lighters and matches in the checked luggage.

The agency also removed liquids, except flammable and explosive ones, from the banned lists on domestic flights. But each bottle of liquid should be less than 100 ml and the total amount should be less than 1000 ml.

The new regulation on liquids is same to the one that was introduced in March 2007 and applied to passengers who take regional and international flights.

Passengers suffering from diabetes and other illnesses are allowed to board planes with liquid medicine, but they are required to show medical certificates or prescriptions.

Passengers are allowed to bring liquid milk products for infants after safety checks, according to the agency.
