4 dead, 6 injured in SW China traffic accident

Four people were dead and six others injured after two vehicles met head-on on Tuesday in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, said police.

The accident occurred at 8:10 a.m. when a dump truck was in head-on collision with a bus on a road from Panlong district to Chengong county. The bus driver and three passengers died on the site, and six other bus passengers were injured.

The truck swerved off the road in to a paddy field, and the driver was unhurt.

The injured were taken to the hospital, and are said to be out of danger.

Both vehicles were damaged, and further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
