Housemaids fly into Beijing amid railway tickets shortage
Adjust font size:

As thousands of milions of Chinese people are rushing home via never ever busily packed trains for their Lunar New Year that falls over the upcoming weekend, nine contracted housemaids from southwest China's Sichuan Province, however, chose to leave their homes and flew over to Beijing on Monday to take up their household works in the Chinese capital.

This is the first ever time that household service girls from Sichuan had to fly into Beijing for their work under the help of their contracted agency in response to both the recent lack of train tickets and a drastic demand of household service employees in Beijing.

The Sichuan housemaids agency said that they had no choice but to resort to two air flights in dispatching out their first group of nine housemaids for the year of 2009 because they failed to purchase enough train tickets for their team of service labors.

The agency called on railway authorities to offer them some needed green lights during this time of the year when housemaids or other labor services are in big demand.

Most of China's household employees come from rural areas and many would return to their homes for the Lunar New Year. This is why a vacuum on the household service market would arise around this time when a large number of housemaids in replacement would be needed.
