Phone fraud involving 3 mln yuan cleared up

Police in Shanghai have cleared up a case of telephone fraud involving 3 million yuan.

The case involved a 72-year-old woman surnamed Wang who received a call on Dec 25 that claimed to be from the public security bureau, saying her bank account was not safe and suggesting she transfer her savings to two accounts the caller provided. The woman, who lives alone, did as the caller said and lost her 3 million yuan.
