Food poisoning sickens 30 film crew, extra actors
Adjust font size:

More than 30 Chinese film crew members and extra actors fell ill with vomiting and abdominal pain in a food poisoning case in Shanghai, local authorities said Tuesday.

The crew and extras went to hospital after having take-out food from a diner Monday. There were no severe cases.

They worked on a film that tells the story about the fight by the Communist Party of China with other parties against the Kuomintang forces in the civil war between 1945 and 1949.

The Shanghai Municipal Food and Drug Administration said initial investigation confirmed the food poisoning. Further investigation was continuing.

The agency said it has sealed up the Shanghai Peiyuan Hotel Management Co. as it was not licensed to sell take-out food.
