Female TV reporter sentenced to jail over bribery
Adjust font size:

A female reporter of China's state broadcaster, China Central Television (CCTV), was sentenced to three years in prison with a four-year reprieve by a court in the northern Shanxi Province.

The Xinghualing District Court in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi, convicted the reporter Li Min, 31, of bribery.

Li took a bribery of 37,000 yuan (5,417 U.S. dollars) and used her position as a CCTV reporter last October to lobby for a suspect in a case being investigated by the Xinghualing procuratorate, the court said.

The reporter was arrested last December.

Li confessed to the crime at the court Monday, and said she would not appeal the sentence, according to the court.
