China's embassy in Japan marks anniversary of July 7th Incident

China's embassy in Japan and four non-governmental friendly organizations have held activities to mark the 78th anniversary of the July 7th Incident. This anniversary have been observed annually by those friendly Japanese civil organizations in previous years.

China's embassy in Japan and four non-governmental friendly organizations have held activities to mark the 78th anniversary of the July 7th Incident. 

Speaking to the audience, Chinese ambassador to Japan, Cheng Yonghua fully acknowledged the commemoration activities launched by these Japanese organizations. Noting that this year serves as the 70th anniversary of the victory of the War Against Japanese Aggression and the world's anti-Fascist War, ambassador Cheng said China and Japan are close neighbors who cannot move away and avoid each other.

He said this anniversary is quite crucial for Japan to earnestly reflect on its war-time aggression history, and take history as a mirror and face up to the future. And in his speech, a former Japanese veteran said there will be no genuine China-Japan friendship without a correct understanding on history.
