A memoir published to review the war history

A keen desire to write a memoir came to Nakajima in 2009. He slogged away all day at his work, and never bothered about anything else.

He spent 20 months writing it, with the number of Japanese characters totaling 220,000, and 170,000 characters in Chinese. However, no publisher was confident enough about his work. Nakajima had to spend 1 million yen of his own money to publish a Japanese version.

In May this year, with the help of some friends, Nakajima successfully contacted the SDX Joint Publishing Company, who agreed to publish a Chinese version.

Nakajima said the book was not only to repay the Chinese people for their loving care, but also to encourage more Japanese people to review the war history and learn about the kindness of the Chinese people. "This is my duty, especially as the relationship between the two countries right now is not stable," he said.

The book has sold well so far, according to Nakajima. The first print run sold out, and extra copies are expected to appear soon.

Nakajima is currently cooperating with the SDX Joint Publishing Company in China to carry out a three week promotion of his book. "With the book published, I can finally comfort my foster parents' souls in heaven," Nakajima said.
