Energy-consuming Power Stations Destroyed

Cooling towers are imploded at Yongchang Power Plant in Yongchang, southwest China's Gansu Province May 16. Gansu Province plans to shut down more high-energy-consuming power stations in an effort to save the energy and reduce the pollution.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said in late April that the current macro-control policy must focus on energy conservation and emission reduction in order to develop the economy while protecting the environment.
