Massive Mudslides Hit Chongqing County

A brick house stands amid a 3,000m long, 300m wide, and 50m thick mudslides in Yunyang, southwest China's Chongqing Municipality June 22, 2007. No casualties were caused thanks to the immediate emergency responses from the local government. The disaster forced the evacuation of 310 people, causing an economic loss of 500,000 yuan. More than 30 houses, 100 pieces of furniture and 50 head of livestock were buried by mudslides. Experts have rushed to the site to direct the rescue operation.
