Adjust font size:

More than one hundred swimmers from Russia and China joined in the Amur river-crossing campaign at Heihe, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on Wednesday, August 8, 2007, the website northeast.cn reported.

Heihe, the host city, lies just opposite the Russian city of Blagoveshensk across the Amur River. The two neighboring cities were called "twin cities", representing the friendship of the two nations.

The sport is one of the activities to celebrate the sixth China-Russia Culture Festival.
