'Bird's Nest' seen behind temple wall
Adjust font size:

The National Stadium, also known as "Bird's Nest", is seen behind the wall of a temple built in the Ming Dynasty in Beijing December 4, 2007. In order to preserve the temple built to worship a fairy in Chinese fables called Jade Maiden of Mountain Tai (Bixiayuanjun), the construction site of the National Stadium was moved about 100 meters northward from the one originally planned, according to Beijing Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage.
