17 sentenced for coal mine blast

Seventeen officials of the Xinyao Coal Mine stand in front of police officers and onlookers during a public sentence for their involvement in a gas blast that killed 105 people in Hongdong County, north China's Shanxi Province, February 24, 2008. They were handed down sentences ranging from one year to life imprisonment.
