The main body of the world's first cylinder sea drilling platform was put in water in east China's Jiangsu Province on Wednesday.

According to website people.com.cn, the project, which started last June and will be completed by the end of this year, was undertaken by a Nantong shipyard for the Norwegian Sevan Marine Company.

The drilling platform can operate 10,000 feet underwater and store 150,000 barrels of oil. It will be put into use in Mexico Gulf in North America after completion.
